This report presents the results of a pilot project integrating Elinor Ostrom’s Core Design Principles with universal spiritual principles to strengthen both the cooperative functioning (horizontal) and sense of purpose (vertical) within real-world groups. Conducted by Prosocial World with support from the Issachar Foundation and Templeton Religion Trust, the study adapted to pandemic constraints by working intensively with smaller cohorts from diverse organizations. Using an eight-week Prosocial Spirituality Course and a participatory action research approach, the project gathered both quantitative and qualitative data to explore how participants applied the training, experienced personal transformation, and identified challenges. Findings offer early evidence and practical insights for developing a scalable framework that unites science, spirituality, and collective action.
